This ESRI class is focused on the ArcGIS geoprocessing framework and the scripting environment using Python.  This course introduces the Python scripting language and the use of Python within the ArcGIS geoprocessing framework. Topics cover Python syntax, the ArcGIS toolbox, and command line environment. This includes the development of custom tools for automating common tasks and for creating complex analytical scripts. 

    •  Geoprocessing framework, Arc Toolbox, Dialogs, Models, Command line, and scripts.

    •  Python basics including looping, conditional statements, and modules

    •  The Geoprocessior object, methods, and properties.

    •  Python scripts as tools or in models.

    •  Error checking, script, tool, and model export for use by others.


Emphasis in this class is on differences in the geoprocessing framework between ArcGIS 9.2 and 9.3. 

This class will be using ArcGIS 9.2 or 9.3 when it is released. This is the standard Introduction to Geoprocessing Scripts Using Python taught by an ESRI Authorized Instructor.
