Training Options

GIS Training Mutual (GTM) has developed a series of independently developed modules.   The independent modules are designed to meet particular needs and training requirements for individuals and organizations.

Modules are offered in individual or small group sessions at OSC Computer Training or in the San Francisco Bay area on request.

On Site

On-site training is available for standard or specialized class modules by a certified instructor. This can include 1/2 day or shorter sessions to develop skills and make effective use of GIS software.  On-site sessions can be cost effective in a tutoring environment with an organizations data for new users. It can also be useful in a mentoring environment in the development of new applications for experienced users.

  • Rates for on-site sessions are based on an assessment of the training requirements for the individual or organization. These rates are negotiable and are dependent on location and the facilities that are available.
  • No fee is assessed by GTM for consultation on evaluating the training needs for an organization.

Contact GTM or David Hansen directly for consultation on the variety of options available and which options maybe useful for you or your organization.

Training modules are intended to cover GIS concepts and steps needed to effectively use and apply GIS software to perform analysis and produce products. These modules are inspired by the core curriculum developed by the GeoTech Center focused on the development of the geotechnical work force as identified by the U.S. Department of Labor’s geospatial technology competency model.
